Uluberia Park was developed in phases from 1987 in the Howrah district of West Bengal. It is located at Birshibpur at about 10 kms from Uluberia town on the National Highway no. - 6 which runs from Kolkata to Mumbai. Uluberia is a major industrial town in the Howrah district of West Bengal. It is famous as an industrial belt close to the state capital. Prominent industrial activity in Uluberia includes Iron & Steel Products, Food processing, Plastic & PVC molding units.

Connectivity

Road connectivity:

The site is well connected by National Highway no. 6 to Kolkata and to neighboring state Jharkhand, Orissa and ultimately extending to Mumbai. The road condition of NH-6 is good and hence it takes around 1 hour to reach Kolkata which is 55 km from the Industrial Park.

Railway connectivity:

The nearest railway stations are Birshibpur and Kulgachia. Birshibpur is the closest station and to the eastern end of the industrial Park, Kulgachia is around 4 km from the Industrial Park.

Port connectivity:

Kolkata is the closest sea port from the Industrial Park at a distance of about 40 kms while Haldia port is located approximately 75Km from the site.

Airport connectivity:

The nearest airport is Kolkata Airport, located at a distance of about 61 KM from the Industrial Park.

The Industrial Park is providing lease holding to various industrial units and institutions for setting up their plants with Building Plan approved by the WBIIDC itself. There exist two large water bodies inside the campus are breathing spaces for the zone.

West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (WBSEDC LtdL) is providing stable and quality power supply to the units of Uluberia Industrial Park. Adequate power is available in the area. One 33/11 KV Sub Station exists within the Industrial Park specially for providing power to units at the Industrial Park.

Water

From geographical consideration, Uluberia Industrial Park has no perennial source of water nearby. WBIIDC has made requisite arrangements to ensure continuous water supply to industrial units of Industrial Park by pumping out ground water through two number overhead water tanks located at Central and western end of Industrial Park.


Street Lights

Street light system is in existence at internal roads of the Industrial Park. WBIIDC has also taken initiatives for solar powered LED street light installation towards utilization of renewable energy and reduction of carbon footprint.

Drainage and Sewerage

Drainage of treated industrial and storm sewer is facilitated through network of surface drains

Raw Material procurement and consumption Centre

There is a mix in the pattern with units procuring material from nearby areas as well as far off locations. However, some units, such as CERATIZIT India producing Carbide cutting tools are fully dependent on imported raw material. The finished good of this unit also uses Kolkata Airport for transporting it to their distribution market mainly North-India. Some units are also using Kolkata port for their export - oriented goods. The outer approach road and connectivity (NH-6) of the Industrial Park is a big strength for raw material and finished good movement.


Common Facilitation Centre
  • A CFC building has been constructed which facilitate 70 seated conference hall, ATM Counter, Food Plaza etc.

  • There are 3 no's pump house and 2 no's overhead reservoirs have been constructed to fulfill the water demand of the entrepreneurs.

  • There is a 33/11 KVA power substation of WBSEDCL.

  • A pipeline network along with underground reservoirs has been setup for fire fighting.
